Directions
Directions to our Campsite (Pine Valley Recreation Facility;
Dahlonega, GA) The easiest way to get to Dahlonega if you are not
familiar with the back roads of Georgia is to take:
- 75 South to I-285 East
- I-285 East to Ga. 400 North
- Ga. 400 North past the outlet malls to the natural end of 400
- Take a left following the sign North Georgia College & State
University
- You will stay on this road about 5 miles and then will come into
Dahlonega
- Take Highway 52 / 9 out of Dahlonega toward Ellijay
- You will stay on this road about 4 miles to a fork (52 and 9
split)
- Stay left on Highway 9
- You will travel about 1 mile and Pine Valley will be on your
left shortly after crossing a small bridge with a small river
underneath.
- The entrance to Pine Valley will have a small house at the
entrance (You will feel like you are driving onto private property
- Continue down the paved road to the Pavilion and park in 1 of
the 2 parking lots.
If traveling 285 and south 400 on a Friday afternoon spooks you like
it does me, try this route:
- Take 575 North to Ga. Highway 20 East (the 2d Highway 20 exit).
- Turn left onto Ga. Highway 20 East
- You will turn left onto Ga. 369 after about 5 miles or so (don't
worry... if you miss 369, 20 will continue to Ga. 400. If you do
this, take 400 North and take the same route from here as detailed
above)
- Take Ga 369 all the way to Ga. 400.
- Take a left onto Ga. 400 and travel north.
- Follow the same directions as detailed above from here.
Bobs
overview map to the
area. It shows two possible routes out of Atlanta, both of which
end up on 400 north.
If you want to use Google Maps for
directions, use 34.512952, -84.060895 as your destination.
We don't have an address, those coordinates are the entrance to Pine
Valley. You'll be on GA-9, near TJ Mote Road. |
