Open to ALL Districts and Out of Council Cub Scout Leaders, as every Scout deserves a well trained leader.

BALOO (Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation) is the Cub Scout leader training required for any leaders who are interested in adding a camping component to their Pack activities. Packs are required to have at least one BALOO trained adult on every Cub Scout den or pack overnight outdoor event – including Pack Camping and Webelos Den overnighters.

BALOO training is comprised of two components—an online component on my.scouting.org and a practical, hands-on component. Both components must be completed to qualify as a “TRAINED” Cub Scout outdoor leader. The online component must be completed at my.scouting.org prior to the practical component. The online training contains introductory and basic information that will be built upon during the practical training.

Scouts will be completing their Swimming electives as well as taking the 2024-2025 BSA Swim Test that allows Scout participation in water activities such as kayaking.

Another opportunity to take the Swim test will be in September at the Aquatics Center on Macland Road, but this will be the only opportunity to complete Swim Electives as a Pack.

Pack 405 will have 1-2 floats in the parade. Some Scouts may also walk. A parent or guardian MUST accompany Scout during the parade. Siblings are welcome to walk in the parade with the Pack, but they are not guaranteed to fit on the float (Scouts first). Scouts are to wear class A uniform, but are encouraged to wear holiday hats and fun accessories such as light up necklaces.
