This is our third year of what ends up being a pack favorite! Our Pack Kayaking Trip in Dahlonega! We will be paddling on Saturday September 14, 2024. We start paddling promptly at 10am.

We've reserved 25 tandem kayaks  and 10 single kayaks. Lions - Bears must paddle with a parent. Webelo and AOLs may share a kayak if they would like. They can also paddle in a single kayak if they pass the BSA swimmer test as swimmer and with parent permission.

The cost is $50 per tandem kayak; single kayaks are $30.

**In order to participate, your scout MUST take and pass the BSA swim test (as a swimmer or non-swimmer). We will be administering swim tests on Sunday, September 8th at 2pm at West Cobb Aquatic Center.  Swim test cost is $5 cash only.

The trip down the river takes about 3 hours. There is a stop on a small beach where we can stop for lunch/snacks so be sure to pack something for you and your scout.

2024 Medical Forms (with copies of insurance cards) MUST be on file for EVERYONE participating. This includes adults, scouts, and siblings. If you are unsure, please have copies available or turn them in to Elizabeth or Dana. I have attached a copy below. If it is not completed and turned in prior to the departure date, your party will not be able to paddle.

Pack 405 will have 1-2 floats in the parade. Some Scouts may also walk. A parent or guardian MUST accompany Scout during the parade. Siblings are welcome to walk in the parade with the Pack, but they are not guaranteed to fit on the float (Scouts first). Scouts are to wear class A uniform, but are encouraged to wear holiday hats and fun accessories such as light up necklaces.
